President’s Blog – February 2025

Greetings CRMCA Members and Affiliates,

It is an honor to share my first update with you as President of the CRMCA. As we head into the 2025 ready-mixed concrete season, we face both challenges and opportunities that will shape our path to success. With spring just around the corner, the arrival of “mud season” brings with it not only drastic weather changes but also increased safety risks, logistical hurdles, and potential quality concerns. I sincerely wish each of you a safe and successful season, as we know that roadway and jobsite conditions are especially hazardous during this time of year.

As we kick off 2025, the Legislative Session is in full swing. CRMCA/CSSGA Legislative Subcommittee has resumed their weekly calls every Tuesday at 8 AM to review bills that affect our industry. The January Legislative Luncheon was well attended by over 40 participants. In February, are joined by Rep. Ryan Gonzalez and Marc Finer from EPIC Campus Littleton Public Schools, to discuss education and outreach strategies, as well as CRMCA’s partnership in bringing ACI Certification to high school students in the construction trades pathway. I encourage all members and affiliates to engage with the Government Affairs Committee and consider selecting representatives from your organizations to participate in these important efforts.

Our committees continue to meet and share ideas, working to solve the pressing issues facing our industry. The Central/Northern Regional Group hosted a Roundtable on February 12th, where attendees engaged in a productive conversation about 1L cements, new materials, and technologies for integrating them into our projects. For those in Southern Colorado, look out for the Southern group’s regional roundtable on March 12th. These open discussions are a valuable opportunity for members to voice concerns and share insights into the topics that matter most to your business and the industry at large.

ACI Certifications are off to a strong start this year, and we are committed to certifying more industry members. If you need to renew your ACI Certification, registration is open. Additionally, we continue to encourage increased participation in our CTAC program. The program is evolving as a task force, focused on enhancing reporting and data access through the CTAC app. We urge all members to use CTAC on their job sites when possible. For training or further involvement with CTAC, please contact JT Mesite.

Our recent Ski Day in Breckenridge was a great success, with around 30 members attending for networking and fun.

Looking ahead, our March Legislative Luncheon will take place on March 19, 2025, at Tetra Tech Offices in Denver, featuring Representative Scott Bright and Jeff Barratt from AGC. Be sure to register for this upcoming event!

Your participation in CRMCA is essential to our collective success. I encourage you to engage with the association, designate staff from your organizations to contribute their talents, and offer support where needed. Together, we can continue to move our industry forward.

Thank you for your involvement, and I look forward to working with all of you to make 2025 a year of success for our industry.

Warm regards,

Dolan Raby
