Hello CRMCA members. November is upon us! The time when everyone is scrambling to wrap up construction projects, fearing the cold weather will shut them down. No doubt, things will get colder. Here is what’s going on at CRMCA.
One of the best parts about November is the Annual Conference. This year we will be meeting in conjunction with CSSGA at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs on November 19 & 20. This is a beautiful setting to gather for networking and re-focus on our initiatives. This year we have several key agenda items including:
- An update from Mr. Robert Garbini, President of NRMCA. In his discussion, Mr. Garbini will describe the priorities of NRMCA, including marketing of the mid/high rise buildings sector.
- Update and explanation of our joint initiative with the Colorado Construction Industry Coalition for Infrastructure Funding. Mr. William Ray, with WR Communications, will be discussing recent survey results and our plans for action.
- The Leeds School of Business will be presenting their latest update and forecast regarding the Colorado economy. Understanding this aspect and the ability to forecast is critical to your business, and this information is intended to assist in that process.
- In 2016 we will be significantly ramping up our efforts toward social media. To introduce this, the conference will include a panel discussion regarding how can it help us as an association, and you in your business. Panelists include: Mr. Patrick Dunne, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association; Mr. Trevor Hall, Colorado School of Mines; and Mr. Nick Rodgers, Kentucky Crushed Stone Association
- This year we will also include a networking function for your spouses on Friday afternoon. As this was successful in previous years, we are pleased to bring aspects of it back.
- Lastly, we will continue to include our annual banquet with a dynamic guest speaker, Mr. Sean Swarner, updates regarding committee success, annual awards, and the opportunity to network with business associates.
If you haven’t yet registered for the event, I encourage you to do so. I look forward to your participation! Please contact Annelise with any questions regarding the event.
Also, the ACI Convention is in Denver for the first time in 10 years. It occurs November 8-12 at the Sheridan Downtown Hotel & Convention Center. While it is too late to register on line, more information can be found at the ACI website. CRMCA is a proud sponsor of the event and we encourage membership to attend.
I hope to see you at one of the 2 functions in November! Thank you for your continued support of your Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association!
