You never know what April in Colorado will bring you, this year the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association, American Concrete Paving Association, and the Portland Cement Association were gifted with beautiful weather, energetic volunteers, and the attendance of countless legislators and state employees during the yearly Concrete Day at the Capitol event on April 25, 2014.
Concrete Day is proclaimed by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper:
WHEREAS, the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association educates the construction community about environmentally friendly concrete products and practices, including ways that building with concrete can help a project achieve LEED certification, reduce the urban heat island effect, and recycle materials that would otherwise have to be placed in a landfill; and WHEREAS, the State of Colorado recognizes the ready mixed concrete industry as important to furthering development in our state and appreciates the hard work, dedication, and the efficiency of its employeesConcrete Day also serves as a way for the Associations to express our gratitude for the hard work and dedication that our elected officials and their staff have shown during this year’s legislative session.
Thanks to all of the volunteers for their participation – this event would not have been possible without your efforts!
