Hello All! Welcome to the first of ideally MANY educational, viable, useful, and at times priceless Technical Blogs through the CRMCA. I hope to share various information from within and around the industry and across Colorado. I will examine many concrete related subjects including CRMCA programs, certification news, as well as the lowdown on updates to or new codes and specifications that impact the Colorado concrete industry.
In case you do not know me quite well enough yet, my name is JT Mesite and I am the Program Manager at CRMCA. My position includes the administration of ACI certifications in Colorado as the lead Examiner of Record, management and coordination of the Concrete Testing Adherence Collaboration (CTAC) program and any other programs created and run by CRMCA, in addition to assisting with Market and the Technical committees. First graduating with a BS in Civil Engineering and a Discipline in Geotech from the University of Wyoming in 2001, I began my engineering career in Colorado Springs for 10 years with CTL|Thompson focusing on construction materials testing, then worked with Geocal and Cesare before I joined CRMCA in 2016.
Enough about me; I want to initially point you towards CRMCA’s YouTube channel. The channel is consistently assembling content and connections to other concrete related topics. You can find our most recent Annual Conference, which was held virtually at the end of November 2020 for the very first (and last?) time. You can discover more information on CRMCA, Build With Strength, and numerous helpful videos referencing ASTM procedures. The ASTM procedures currently on the channel reference the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification, though there are plans for future videos that will reference other ACI, ASTM, and even DOT procedures. Watch out for new content or subscribe to the channel.
I look forward to sharing the happenings in Colorado concrete in 2021 and beyond. Our members and partners should look forward to an incredible year through the CRMCA!
