On February 5 and 6, NRMCA hosted a roundtable and site tour on Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) in Phoenix, AZ. CRMCA Executive Director, Todd Ohlheiser, participated in the tour along with Central Market Committee Chair, Terry Kelly (Aggregate Industries), and 4 other individuals from the Colorado design/build community. In total there were 95 participants!!
The event consisted of a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s desert laboratory, the Taliesin West, as well as 3 ICF building projects: St. Juan Diego Catholic Church, The Village at Mountain Shadows, and a Best Western hotel. In addition, the attendees stayed at a Hapton Inn and Suites that was built utilizing ICF construction.
Overall this was a successful event that exposed attendees to a range of ICF construction projects. CRMCA will continue to target building codes in Colorado as well as focus on schools.
