The CRMCA, as a Local Sponsoring Group for the American Concrete Institute (ACI), continues to provide many of the ACI certifications offered. This includes the Field Testing Technician Grade I certification, which is widely required by CDOT, municipality, and commercial specifiers.
In 2019, we have expanded sessions outside of the Denver Metro area to include Greeley and Pueblo, in addition to yearly sessions in Grand Junction, Durango, Glenwood Springs, and Colorado Springs. The certification schedule for the first quarter of 2019 is currently open for registration on the website, including two new certifications offered through ACI, the Self-Consolidating Concrete (SCC) Testing Technician and Cement Physical Tester.
On top of the expansion of both the session locations and certifications offered, the CRMCA will also be providing free one-day training to CRMCA members for the Field Testing Technician Grade I. These training sessions will provide additional information on the testing procedures and why they are necessary. The training is meant to compliment but not replace individual company training. For those wishing to assist during ACI sessions in Colorado, we also will be leading a Supplemental Examiner (Proctor) training course. This three-quarter-day-long session will help in understanding how to evaluate and observe individuals during performance and daily field/laboratory testing. The CRMCA strongly recommends this course to create an equal footing for all involved in certifications in Colorado. Registration for both the Technician and SE Training is also now open on the website.
