Hello CRMCA members. Welcome to the first CRMCA Blog of 2017. I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start, as it is with CRMCA. Here is what is happening at your association.
- I start with the important Legislative session that is underway. We continue to meet Monday mornings in the Capitol basement to discuss pending legislation. As you know, we have been in support of a Referred Measure from the Legislature that would create much needed infrastructure funding for Colorado. Our business partners of CCA, CSSGA, ACPA and CAPA are all aligned in this effort. This year, with the help of key consultants we have expanded the coalition to include other industries. With this in mind the coalition of FixItCO has been formed which now includes stakeholders from all four corners of Colorado and includes groups from truckers to environmentalists. Learn more by following #FixItCO on Twitter and look for the website to be launched in February!
- Additionally, I am pleased to report the new Association Management System (AMS) was recently launched. This system becomes our interface with members, so it is a very important step in the continued growth of CRMCA. Think of it like you would an account with Amazon or Travelocity. You can log in, register for events, pay invoices, review past activity, etc. all in one system. This is new territory for us so there may be glitches, even with a very good system like this. If there are, I ask for your patience as we work through anything that comes up. Rest assured, we are working to make the transition and implementation go smooth. Use this document for additional instructions on how to get registered!
- In January, we again had a very successful Rodeo at the Denver Western Stock Show. This included dinner in the Forney Museum where we were able to meet right in the museum itself. Several pictures are included. If you were not in attendance I encourage you to participate next year. It is a great networking opportunity and supports local events and businesses.
- We are also working closely with NRMCA on the Build With Strength initiative. I am pleased to report Oliver Brooks with Martin Marietta has volunteered to lead this important program for us. A small steering committee including myself, Dana Rotkovich and Abbott Lawrence are interfacing with NRMCA and will continue to inform membership of direction and how to get involved.
- Lastly, I encourage you to review our upcoming events, as there are many seminars, webinars, ACI sessions, and other events available. It is with your participation that make these committee items a success.
Please contact any of us if there is anything we can do or provide information on. Thanks again for your support and I look forward to a great 2017!
