Hello CRMCA members! I hope 2016 has been off to a good start for you all. The CRMCA board of directors, committee members, and staff have been busy this past month planning ahead for the year. Please read on to learn more about the larger initiatives we will address in 2016.

Test Fest July 2015

  • Testing Standards Adherence Program. This program began in 2014 and continues to be a success statewide. As of December 31, 2015 over 550 assessments have been conducted and submitted. I am excited to announce that this week CRMCA will release an iPhone and Android app, allowing assessors to record their assessments in real time on the jobsite (contact Annelise with any questions on the app). This year the association plans to share the program on the national level while continuing to conduct assessments and hold test fest events throughout Colorado.

Trevor Hall, Nick Rodgers, and Patrick Dunne participated in a social media panel during the 2015 Annual Conference.

  • Communications Initiative. CRMCA will expand our presence on social media platforms, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, in 2016. The association will utilize these platforms to educate on the usage and betterment of the concrete industry, participate in political campaigns and messaging, promote certifications, seminars, and training materials, engage members in ongoing conversations, and keep the membership updated on regulatory issues and challenges.
  • Education & Marketing of Concrete. Over the past couple years Stacy Ehrlick and the market committee chairs and members have been instrumental in achieving their mission of expanding awareness and educating specifiers, contractors, decision makers, and members regarding the full capabilities, benefits, and innovations of concrete. This has continued to stimulate and build momentum for the usage and expansion of the concrete scope of construction. Look for more seminars and education in 2016.
  • Transportation Funding. CRMCA maintains a strong presence in the Colorado Construction Industry Coalition (CCIC). I am confident our work with our CCIC partners will yield results for transportation funding in the state of Colorado. The association will continue to keep members updated on our progress.

Thank you for your continued support of the CRMCA. And, as always, don’t hesitate to reach out to Todd, Stacy, Annelise, or me with any questions.
