Dear CRMCA members,
Welcome to the first of many bi-monthly Executive Director blogs. Just as everyone has been busy during the first portion of 2014, your association has been busy in several areas. Here are a couple of highlights:
- I am excited to publish on the NEW CRMCA WEBSITE. This site is a huge step forward regarding communication and association interaction. There is a fully interactive calendar where you can register for events and copy them into your calendar, valuable industry information and links to concrete related partners, and a Members Only section for more in-depth information regarding committee updates and member contact information. We have the staff to thank as Annelise Shepherd spent countless hours building the site along with our web design consultant, Katie Wilson from Aspire Internet Design, and Stacy Ehrlick for her up front work in consultant choice and site review. Create your login id today to access the Members Only section, and also, like us on Facebook (although I’m not sure myself what that means).
- CRMCA, along with the ACPA and PCA, celebrated the ending of the 2014 legislative session with Concrete Day at the Capitol on April 25. To show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication the Associations threw a BBQ at the Capitol Grounds for over 450 legislators and state employees. Read more about the event here.
- While the 2014 legislative session is over this week, it is important to now focus our full attention on the upcoming November elections. With this in mind, our fundraising has begun for the CONCRETE PAC. This Political Action Committee is an important part of helping to get business friendly candidates into office. We need your help in this endeavor so please contribute the maximum of $550 dollars to this important issue. Our PAC, along with our Governmental Affairs Committee’s involvement with various fundraisers can make a difference. PLEASE PARTICIPATE!!!
- Lastly, I want to mention the upcoming membership drive. There is strength in numbers and a growing membership is an important part of any association. Look for information to follow as we continue to introduce new ways to bring members into CRMCA.
Thanks for your continued support in your Ready Mixed Concrete Association!
